Advice from my lovely abuelita
I grew up with a very independent and strong Latina grandmother. She came here by herself from Honduras when she was 17 years old.
If you’re picturing a cute , small, and sweet old lady she’s definitely the first two, but let’s just say all my childhood friends feared her.
She played no games and took no shit....as a woman coming into my own self I realized I large part of who I am is because of my grandmother.
But oh is she fabulous!
Cher is her idol, so I grew up with that kinda woman. The kind who won’t leave the house without mascara , blush, or lipstick...she’s extra but she showed me that you gotta flaunt it while you got it.
So here is some advice I wrote down throughout the years that helped me with many situations in life... I hope it helps you too.
1: Don’t care about what other people are doing, worry about your damn self.
2: Open your mind, not your legs. A lot of men are full of shit.
3: You’re single until there’s a ring on your finger.
4: Money talks, bullshit walks.
5: Fuck that shit.
6: Don’t tweeze your eyebrows.
7: Take a tequila shot, why would you want to worry about a drink ? Now no one will drug you.
8: “Whatever I don’t do today, I do tomorrow...who cares ? “
Oh grandma...
The other day she told me, “ I have always said whatever I wanted to say, but the older I get I realize I can say whatever the fuck I want to say...”
This list might get a little more interesting.
You are my woman man crush every day grandma 💕
