Let’s start with the beginning of the day.
I am an early bird and I enjoy trying to get the most of my day.
I walked the streets of Havana at 7am in hopes of finding breakfast…Unless your casa particular serves breakfast early, most restaurants open at 9am.
Most restaurants also close by 10/11pm, so keep that in mind if you get late night munchies.
Upon recent travels I have luckily found a few local gems that are open at 7 a.m and that close later than 10pm.
Cubans honestly sell coffee every where. I think Cubans drink coffee more than they drink water. Buy coffee from a Cuban local who’s selling it on the street #supportthecubanpeople
Vedado
Havana is huge, I have gone 5 times and I still can’t seem to stop finding little gems!
My favorite part of Havana is Vedado, it is a totally different vibe than Old Havana. It is quite majestic compared to Habana vieja because it is filled with historical mansions. It’s much calmer.
It was run by the mafia back in the day and the architecture here is absolutely beautiful.
Check out these little gems in Vedado if you want to explore a little more of Habana outside of the touristy Old Havana. It’s only a 10 minute can ride from Old Havana. Take a taxi colectivo 🚖
