Our life is one big project.
I’ve been on a journey to live a happy life and encourage others to do so as well.
Working as a hairstylist with people everyday, and traveling to understand the language of the world, has helped me with with my own happiness project.
As this decade comes to an end, I thought about all the sad/rough times I had and what I did to make myself feel better…especially after calling off my wedding.
I’ve been thinking about what has helped me stay positive and it has honestly been a combination of so many different things I would like to share. As I clear my physical space from clutter to help organize my thoughts for 2020…I remembered how I once read in “The Happiness Project” some interesting things that I want to share, so here ya go:
1: Hug/Love more…
Research has shown that hugging for a minimum of 6 seconds, …” promotes the flow of oxytocin, and serotonin, mood-boosting chemicals.” So hug, hug hug hug and hug with love for a minimum of 6 seconds to increase your happy hormones.
2: Decluttering a junk drawer or physically organizing space, helps to de-clutter and organize our thoughts/mind. “Outer order contributes to inner calm.”
3: Buy happiness. Money cannot buy happiness, but you can invest in things that help make you happy. For example, Jess buys flights since traveling makes Jess happy.
4: Quit Nagging
5: Do more good to be more good.
6: “ One of the best ways to make other people happy is to be happy yourself.”
These are just the main things that stuck out to me that I feel has made a positive impact in my life. I believe if we followed some of these guidelines, it can help us all with our own happiness project.
For my next post it will be all about energy, I’m learning how to control my energy, and how to be a light without burning out…. for now I wanted to share my own happiness project with you.
I think it’s important to start the new year with positive energy, we are stepping into a NEW DECADE. Let’s make the next 10 years of our life better than the past 10 years. Open your space to open your mind.
De-clutter your space to help de-clutter in your mind.
Donate the clothes and things you don’t need.
Quit nagging, and do something to help make this world a better place.
Off I go to practice what I preach now 😅
