NYC is filled with so many fun places. I once read that in order for you to try all of the restaurants in New York City, you would have to live to be 188 years old and eat 2 breakfast, lunch, and dinner entrées. Therefore it is almost impossible to try all of the restaurants in New York, but I have tried a few good ones and these are some places I would recommend. New York is really the city that never sleeps and its energy is tantilizing.
Visit markets and art museums ! I like to check out @Fomofeed on Instagram for fun places to visit. Chelsea Markett and Artist and Fleas are cute markets to check out.
Get your aura picture taken at Magic Jewelry in China Town
Check out Highline Park. It used to be an old rail road track and now it’s filled with pretty gardens and great city views.
Take a cooking class
If its cold, have a hot chocolate at Max Brenners in Union Square.
Try icecream at Van Leeuwen Icecream
I love me some day drinking. One time my best friend and I went to brunch at Calle Ocho and had way too many bottomless sangrias... we ended up taking the best nap ever on the lovely grass of Central Park. It was great!
If you want a fun Latino vibe...
Sofrito’s
Republica
La Marina (only in the summer )
For food, drinks, and Sunday funday vibes:
Cafe Cortadito
Agave
Poco
Fonda
BEA
Essex
Non Boozy Brunch spot:
Amy Ruths (chicken &waffles in Harlem)
During Prohibition, New York had a few secret hidden bars that are actually still around today.
The Back Room-is one of the original speak easies that was actually around during prohibition 🥃🍸
Other speak easies:
The Blind Barber, Please Don’t Tell, Bath Tub Gin
Pio Pio- in Hell’s Kitchen is one of my favorite Peruvian food restaurants, I recommend the Tacu Tacu and a Pisco Sour de Chicha
Flor de Mayo and Mission Ceviche are other Peruvian recommendations
Caracas arepa bar-el pabelon is the best and my favorite
Barrio Chino-cute little Mexican hole in the wall. I love their strawberry vanilla margarita. Chill restaurant/bar
La Esquina- quesadillas and tacos upstair...there’s a hidden bar on the weekends downstairs. Side note you gotta be dressy and make reservations for the secret bar.
Lombardi's- Best pizza in little Italy 🍕 it’s a must if you haven’t had pizza in NYC. Lombardi's was founded in 1905, making it the first pizzeria in the United States. Their sangria is good too 🍷
Eataly is also a cute little place to visit and eat authentic food. It’s an Italian market where you can eat pizza or pasta and drink some wine.
Sugarfish has AMAZING SUSHI
Another fresh sushie spot is Blue Ribbon, they also serve really good fried chicken and sake bombs!
Korilla BBQ- Yummy Korean tacos, make sure you get that kimchi
Los Tacos No.1 actually has some good tacos for being on the East Coast. LA Tacos still have my heart, but this place will do when I want a quick taco fix in the city.
Cafe Habana…they also have a location in Malibu that is super nice. Their NYC location is chill, they serve brunch on the weekends and they have an eclectic mix of Cuban and Mexican food.
Cienfuegos-great little cozy bar to get a huge punch bowl and share with friends, or significant other.
If you want to be bad and bougie, a Michelin rated restaurant that has been highly recommended, is Le Bernardin … but I never tried because it is about $700 for dinner. Maybe one day…
Van Leeuwen-amazing icecream
Magnolia Bakery (Sex & the City vibes, get their banana bread pudding 😍)
Ample Hills Icecream
Brooklyn is such a cute little gem.
Gentrification at its finest, but it’s so eclectic and there are so many cool things to do and see.
Breakfast/brunch: Sweet Chick or Yelp out a local coffee shop
Visit Brooklyn Kava for some cozy Kava Tea. My favorite is the Pineapple Mango Tea. It’s super relaxing and produces feelings of euphoria and positivism . Do some research on Kava tea before trying it.
Artist and Fleas Market
Smorgasburg (April-November)
Thai Holic has awesome Thai food
Ample hills ice cream is a must, check out their calendar for BYOB ice cream making date night classes.
